So, I have a Jayco 1207. Last year was my first summer with it. When we had electric, I was close enough to connect to it. But I could not help but wonder how pissed I would be if I arrived at a camp site that I might have paid extra for (electric), only to come up short on the attached cord.

So how many of you pup owners use a 30 amp extension cord? If so, where is a good place to get it? Amazon? e-bay? Features, if any to look for?

I should add that, at the moment, I do NOT have a/c.

If you aren't trying to run AC, then a 30amp to 15/20amp adapter plus a typical heavy guage outdoor extension cord should be fine.

If you want a 30Amp cord, which isn't a bid idea but a bit expensive, I would watch craigslist and ebay. I got mine for $20 from CraigsList from a gentlemen that steped up in RV from 30A input to 50A and he no longer needed the extension.

If you shop there Walmart likely has them too.

Even with our hybrid I know what you are talking about. If you do not have air conditioning or do not plan to use it, a good quality plug adaptor connected to a 12 gage extension cord will work. But if you have AC and want to use it you need the 30 amp extension cord. I have camped in a few places where we have been challenged to use our 30 gage cord as the post was on the wrong side of the HTT. I have rolled in with reservations and been shown the spots that are open and not taken a few spots because the post was on the wrong side, too far away, and know the DW would want to use the AC.

I carry a 30A Male/Female 25-foot extension cord. I hav only had to ue it once in all my travels as 99% of camp grounds have their pedestals where they are suppose to be...

I asked and got mine from the RV dealer (for free) when I got my OFF-ROAD POPUP. I also carry the various adapters as well as a couple of 20AMP HD extension cords. I place all of these items under PLAN Bs...

Thanks all. I have a heavy duty adapter, so perhaps will go with that and a standard HD extension cord (not 30A) given the lack of A/C.

I got mine from Amazon. It is a 25' cord and paid less than $40 for it shipped. Of course I needed it at the house, as the 30 amp outlet is just a tad further away from the trailer than the attached cord will reach. Mine stays plugged in during the Spring/Summer/Fall months, as I use it as a man cave at the house when not out camping. Good place to keep my beer cold.

I needed an extension cord, because I wanted my camper at the opposite side of a site once, to be further from the oddly placed fire pit. The host campers at most campgrounds often have extension cords too if your campground has one. So do the park rangers sometimes at state parks. I carry one just in case

I got my extension via Costco.ca (I am in canada). Good thing... Some of our provincial parks require a lot of extra length to get to the box
