Exterior Storage change on x213

x213 has only the one small exterior storage hatch. I added white pegboard for storing jack/hitch handles and as a barrier to accessing the inside of the trailer via the hatch. Added a light to be able to see the interior at night.

Big change was to open up access to the space across the front of the trailer. We use this for storing tent polls and load-leveler hitch bars. The fiberglass insulation on the interior wall was replaced with blue foam board and white hardboard was glued over the insulation. White hardboard was screwed/glued to metal trailer frame in the front to protect the fiberglass exterior skin.

Just need a skinny helper to squeeze into the opening to drive a few screws!!!

Our BBQ (Weber Q100) is in a rubbermaid tote in the trailer bunk area. Once we get to site it goes over by the hot water tank outside.

The rubbermaid tote has a flip lid. No smell.

I like this ! I came out of a class A and downsized to an X213. Needless to say major storage woes for me. Not that I carry a ton of stuff but there is just not much space to put stuff without having to move it multiple times especially longish objects. I see from your postings you like to tinker with stuff. Let me ask you this, now that you have seen that space up front what do you think the about installing some kind of doors under the top bunk to access all that space? I was thinking of rigging quick disconnects on the lower bunk instead of the hinges so that when I don't need it I can leave it at home .

Good idea. It's pretty narrow space until you are about a foot off the floor so perhaps access just above the lower bunk platform and put a shelf at that level. Post a picture if you do this and I would copy you!!

The pegboard "pegs" have fairly good U shaped hooks on them so the tools stay in place pretty well. I also got some retainer clips to keep the pegs in place in the board as well. The cupboard space is also pretty well packed with a plastic tote, leveling blocks and bucket so not much room for things to all off as well!
