Factory installed Generator?

So As I sit and wait for my new pinnacle 36KPTS to be built (2.5 months out)I think of all the options they have. Curious but not many people talk about having a factory installed Generator installed by Jayco. Anyone have the factory installed propane unit? What do you think? If you went a different route what did you do? I got a great price on the trailer and went with the factory generator install. I figures by having the factory install it all the wires and hookup are done, The remote start and other items are done, and it doubles my propane storage.

That's what we did with our PINNACLE, only in 2015 it was gas. Personally I would do it again

You can get generator prep which includes everything but the genset.

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS I ordered with genset prep or dry camping package as Jayco called it. I have since installed an Onan 5500. I'd never own a 5th wheel without an on board generator. But we field camp a lot.

I had the generator installed from the factory, I don't regret it. At the bare minimum when ordering a trailer I would at least do the generator prep just in case.

I ordered our Northpoint with the gen prep. We don't "need" one and from the prices I was seeing on the Onan 5500 propane genset, it was cheaper to get the prep and buy/install the generator on my own. With the prep, most of the work is already done and if I happen to come across a killer deal on a used generator, then I'm just making out better. That said, with my luck by the time I'm ready the price on the generators will probably skyrocket.

We had a dealer installed Onan 5500 gas powered on our North Point. It worked well. The problem was, the location of the gas spout was such that we had to disconnect to fill it. Our Pinnacle has the same generator only lpg powered. It works well and is much easier to refill. Also, no gas smell.
