Fall camping in Weldon Springs State Park.

Hey all! Just returned from a wonderful trip to a close-to-home state park we stumbled across while on our wedding anniversary in a nearby town. We liked the look of the place, so we decided to pull the pup there the next day!
Fall camping is the best by far, didn't need the a/c or the heat, and man was it quiet! Only 6 camp sites were occupied out of 75 available.
Spent 2 days lazily exploring the surrounding park, trails, resturant/snack-bar, lake, and the springs themselves as well as enjoying the fall foliage. We are looking forward to going again next year.

And with every camping trip there is the inevitable 'Boneheaded rv/camping story' that goes with it...

We had to deal with a little rain the last night, but we still got to enjoy the evening fire before we had to head indoors. While enjoying the indoor splendor of our pup watching a movie, I forgot to lower a corner of the awning to direct water flow, and we awoke to an overhead water pocket and a severly bowed awning pole.
I've since straightened the 3-piece awning pole (oddly enough, the strongest pole out of the 5), but not before I broke my bench vise(!) trying to straighten the assembly. So I had to fix the vice before I could finish fixing the pole.

Hey, don't worry about the awning thing, those things happen to all of us.

You're right: Fall camping is the BEST! It's my favorite camping season.
