If you hook up the 12V fan properly, yes, it will run.

While there is nothing wrong with running the refrigerator on propane the rational of "preserving the amps" for other things is unjustified. The refrigerator only uses about 2 amps. Better to consider the real power hungry items like the air conditioner and the water heater.

Personally I use electric options whenever possible. The site cost already pays for the electric.

I did not realize that the fridge only used 2 amps. In that case, electric does make more sense. I just left Myrtle Beach, with temps in the high 90's. Breaker went once. I had water heater on electric at that time, tv going, a fan going, and the microwave. Turned water heater to propane and everything was fine. I thought I read or heard, that a fridge cooled faster on propane. True or false?

False.

However, many will argue that point. The fact is it nothing more than a heat source. Be it an electric element or a propane flame. It's just heat.

What I have gleamed from some independent testing articles..., about the only time LP may have an efficiency edge over electric in cooling a little faster, is when the outside temperature is below 45F. I would venture to guess that the vast majority of us operate our frig's in 45F plus outside temp's.

So in the big picture, I would concur with Chuck.

The rationale is that the propane is hotter than the 300 watt element and therefore cools faster. Probably a little truth in that but I have not seen that much difference in actual practice. With that fan setup I have been good either way.
