Hello!!

My name is Dana and I am a single Mom of a soon to be 18 year old, we live in the outskirts of Vancouver BC Canada and I finally bought us a Jayco travel trailer! I have always loved Jayco as my sons Dad and I had one when our son was a toddler. I hauled my moms 2013 Springdale for 10 years and then she sold it fall of 2022. I went last year without a trailer, so I borrowed my brother’s tent last summer to camp with my son and fell out of it (sober lol) and broke my finger! I’m too old for tenting lol! So I’ve been searching for a Jayco in my price range since the start of the year and found a 2015 Featherlite 23’ which is perfect for us and our 2 dogs :)
I’m sure I will have lots of questions and ask for lots of help!

Welcome from CT and congratulations on finding your new to you camper. :)

I bought a camper after going tent camping x1. I knew the ground level and blow up beds were not gonna work for this aging body.

Welcome. Pretty awesome you made that happen for you. Enjoy the camper. Great group here. Former Jayco owner, but this is probably the best place for advice on RV related stuff so I stick around.

Welcome! I remember when we made the transition from camping to "glamping" my better 1/2 was against it as she thought our $$ would be spent better on other things. All up until we were in the woods and around 3am a "Frog Strangler" (Thunderstorm Florida Style) popped up over us! We both were awoken by a simultaneous flash'n'crash of Lightning'n'Thunder. I looked at her as we were nice, dry & cozy in our bed and said "Aren't you glad we're not in a tent?" To which she replied "Yeah this is the best thing we ever did!" LOL Anyhoo I digress that was in our 1st camper. A used (well floor model) 2013 Coachmen Clipper 16FB. It was a great little camper and taught us a lot in the 6yrs we owned it! In 2019 we bought our brand new Jayfeather 24RL. We absolutely love it! Not to say our rig was/is 100% hassel free in the 5 years we have owned it. The rig has been very good to us. We have done and continue to do some nice upgrades. As far as mass produced campers I think Jayco is very near the top end if not the top! Especially the Magnum Truss roof system! You can check out YouTube. test videos on youtube. If you take good care of your camper it will provide years & years of faithful service! Enjoy

Funny you should mention that you you went without one last year and decided to get back into finding one as you knew you missed camping above the ground.

We sold our camper about three weeks ago and in a similar manner found out quickly that traveling and staying in hotels, going pottying in gas stations and truck stops and eating in fast food joints was not going to make it when our next urge or requirement to travel came up.

We knew we wanted and needed to upgrade for a variety of reasons but felt that we would keep looking and possibly wait until after labor day or the election to see if a really good deal on the right camper would come along for us. The bug bit earlier than expected and the right one for the current time came along.

Now we just have to make stuff actually work and not fall apart, since we bought new. [Did I say those crazy words?] Ask away any crazy thoughts that you might have, and you will probably get an opinion to weigh your options.

Welcome to the Jayco family. This is probably the best rv resource forum on the internet, so don’t be shy and ask away as you begin your very own RV journey. Congrats!!
