Hey there, recently purchased a 2002 jayco eagle 5th wheel. I'm a first time RV owner and have always dreamed of living off grid via either camper or modified vehicle. The jayco that I purchased definitely needs some work before I can consider living in it full-time. I'm currently staying in it parked at a residence hooked up to the house power. I appreciate any tips or tricks anybody has. One thing I've noticed off the back was there is no circuit board for the water heater, so that's the first thing I want to replace. Have tested out the water system hooked up to the city water inlet. First time I ran into into was a week at the toilet. It was in the back where the water connects to the toilet so I put some epoxy around the pinhole and have yet to check it again but I'm sure it will hold. I have my macerator pump coming in today pumping and flushing my tanks may have a little water in them and from me and possibly people me. I did notice there was a piece of plumbing missing, it's a 90° pipe fitting's from the kitchen sink when that kicks over towards the tanks. So I'll go today and find a replacement part well I'm working on my tanks. A lot more stuff to do. I'll be in touch. I look forward to getting to know you guys and the learn of your experiences. Thank you

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to Jayco Owner's Forum.
Here is a link to download the owner's manual for 2002 Jayco Eagles.
I recommend you contact a nearby Mobile RV Service technician and ask for a general inspection.
This page allows you to display techs in your area, simply type your town... such as Yorkville, IL.

You'll want to begin your ownership with a firm knowledge of the condition of your 5th wheel. Making friends with a nearby tech has many advantages too.

Good luck and once again, Welcome. :D

The water pressure from a home can damage your plumbing...fill your water tank and use your pump if it's working or use a pressure reducer. How's does the roof look, any water damage? Does it smell moldy inside? How are all the water/propane lines? That's a very old trailer, good luck!

Good to know, im gladi jumped on here. I guess it's possible I caused the leak on the toilet. I'll grab a pressure reducer. There's a brand-new water pump but it hasn't been hooked up. The electric is a little funny because the people I got it from had been remodeling it so it's not complete. They were living in it next to a house so there were a few things they weren't using using. Like for one they converted the tub into a sleeping area for a kid so no working shower. Among a couple other things. There is a little water damage but no smell of mold. I think it looks like it's coming from the AC area. I looked the roof over but briefly. I think he was a N
Handy man who wasnt very handy. I don't think anything is beyond my abilities.i am very handy myself. I am an electrician but I can do it all9. I haven't tested the water again yet so I'll investigate that again recently just got a propane tank so I'll check that soon too. I know of one gas pipe that needs to be capped under the fridge.todaytoday
