First time travel trailer owners starting today. I'm open to any first timers advice and craft, nifty items out of the norm I will want/need!! Thank you for anything y'all might have to offer! I'm sure I'll be back again and again!!

Best piece of advice we got when we started out was to take it slow and easy, especially when turning and backing. Remember, the TT tracks inside the TV.

As far as equipment goes, First thing I added, and recommend, is an electrical management system. I use one from Progressive Industries and won't plug into shore power without it. IMO another great investment is a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) - I believe it's cheap insurance against a blowout and the potential damage one could cause.

MY advice would be to practice setting up your camper before heading.Things like leveling, stabilizing, putting awning out and so, so that you know what to do when you get to the campground. It will make the trip go much more smoothly when you get to the campground if you already know what to do and know how everything works.

X2 Stay close to home for the first couple of nights.... even your driveway if that works for you.

If you are first time RVers, you have a whole 'trailer full' of new things to learn and get comfortable with... both when camping and when on the road. If you have specific questions, just ask if you don't find answers on the forum.

Camping World stocks them, most any rv supply store or online supplier.

A second job to pay for all the stuff you're going to get this year. But all the above, and some small stuff, a water pressure regulator. Around ten bucks. And a water sediment filter, around 15/20 bucks. You will want to get a sewer hose and better connectors than the junk that came with your new camper. Camping World has almost all the stuff you'll want/need, but Walmart has the basic stuff at less $. I get most of my RV stuff online.

All good advice above. The only thing I would like to add is that water is your enemy. Keep on top of the service and maintenance, and IMO, a yearly leak test if you are parked outside with no shelter. A lot of damage can occur internally long before any visible signs are present.

CHOCK the WHEELS before you unhook it from the TV! If you don't it could roll and really hurt someone. Now go use it like you stole it.

Everyone here posted some great suggestions, the only things I would add is a minor repair tool kit, a note book and adult beverages.
TOOL KIT - for minor incidentals that occur while exploring the great outdoors.

NOTEBOOK - since this is your first you can start your diary first thing upon picking it up. We started ours with camping experiences in the front 1/2 and in the back anything we "wanted" or "needed" as well as encounters we faced.

ADULT BEVERAGES - for when your sitting around that campfire at night admiring your new camper and saying "what the **** did we get ourselves into" LOL.

PS This new found lifestyle is addicting and expensive at times

I'm quite happy with our PVC bed rails, vinyl gutter sewer hose support, and wood leveling thingee (not pictured, but it is basically three 2 x 6 boards of varying length screwed together to form a ramp that allows me to incrementally lift the trailer on one side as needed).
