Hey there!

First post and a few questions.

Our last 5th wheel was a 2004 with none of the wonderful options that our 2023 Eagle HT 28.5 has. Especially the solar and electronics.

We are in central Virginia. The unit is already winterized with antifreeze, but we're at a point where we think we need to remove the batteries for the solar.

Remember, this is our first winter with this new/advanced camper, so a lot of this preparing for winter is new to us.

My thoughts about removing the batteries and putting them in storage is: "What about the jaycommand unit inside the camper?" How do you keep that charged up, or do you just let the power run out?

Thanks for any advice you can help us with.

Open this guide and read 'Page 3'

In the guide the section titled STORAGE says;
When the Controller is not being regularly used, it should be charged to between 55% and 75% every 3 months to maintain optimum battery condition. For long-term storage, it is recommended to keep the Controller at a temperature between 32°F and 113°F (0°C and 45°C).
If your Controller has been affected by cold temperatures, it can be removed from the wall and placed in a warmer area until it returns to normal function. The JAYCOMMAND app can be used from your smartphone to allow control of your JAYCOMMAND system.

and on Page 4 it shows how to remove the tablet off the wall.
Pay close attention to the wire that plugs into the tablet. Once it's unplugged, it tends to fall down into the wall. You don't want that to happen... I know from experience.

I suggest you keep it in your house and plugged into a charger so the battery never drains completely.
