Hey Folks,

We've recently purchased a 2013 white Hawk Ultra-Lite 28DSBH; our first ever RV! We've noticed the floor sags under our body weight in the front entryway and down the center of the RV length-wise (essentially, the most-travlled parts of the RV floor.) The previous owners were big people and the wear and tear is evident!

We're brainstorming options to help disperse our weight across a wider area of floor when we take a step. I've looked several places for schematics that will help us know for sure where the support beams are and I can't find anything of the sort.

Have you dealt with this issue yourself? If so, how'd you address it?

Any tips on where to get schematics?

Thanks in advance for any help! Yall rule!

Here's a link to the brochure that shows a little bit of the floor framing. You could also contact JAYCO. They may not have it since it's past the 10 year mark for files.

and...

Thank you for your reply! At this point in my ownership I need all the help I can get!

I'm only seeing Floorplans here in the brochure, not so much the schematics I'm hoping to find.

I emailed Jayco. Here's hoping they can help me!

Cheers and thankyou, happy to be here :campfire:

I was a bit nervous buying a Jay Feather, knowing that in the past decade, the laminated floors of campers past have come to the point you're now experiencing.

Some manufacturers have scrapped the laminated floor altogether and some have altered them. Looks like Jayco has transformed and altered theirs. See Grumpy's attachment? Your camper's floor supports run lengthwise, down the camper, front to back. Here'a schematic of my 2022 Jay Feather's floor...still laminated, but floor supports are running side to side, widthwise.

I'm really hoping they've worked out the problems in these floor and my camper never develops the soft spots. It's a smaller camper, where you tend to stand in the same spots, especially the entryway and kitchen workstation.

If they do eventually end up softening, they need to get back to plywood in all the models.

This is on page 6 of the brochure and shows how the floor is laid out. It it gives a fair picture of the floor structure.

You have a vacuum bonded floor, so there is block foam between the joists, which run front to back and it is covered on both sides with 3/8 luan. They rely on the foam for support, but it has been known to fail and create soft spots.

Okay. Now I'm confused. Here's a Jayco website drawing, outlining 2022 jay feather construction... :scratchhead:

It doesn't look like my schematic, as far as floor construction. Am I missing something? Oh wait...those cross members, those are the FRAME?

OK. don't listen to anything I say. >backs away sheepishly<

I was just going to post, our 2019 Jay Feather has the 5/8 plywood flooring.
