Fresh Water Overflow

Hi,

I recently purchased a preowned 2009 T24Z and when filling the potable water via the gravity feed when the water reaches about 1/3-1/2 full it begins to pour of the overflow tubes. I’m unsure what is going on, it’s also on coming from one of the tubes.

My initial thought is that the fresh tank drain that the manual mentions is open and that’s why the tank won’t hold water but I cannot find the drain valve to close it.

Tabk sensors are known to be flaky. Are you looking only at the gauge? Or, being an exposed underbelly, have you taken a bright flashlight to the tank wall, and verified how full the tank really is?

I didn’t shine a light up to the tank before, but now I have. I let the overflow go until it stopped to see where it would settle. From what I can see, under the trailer there are two holding tanks for fresh water and they are both about half full. The indicator though is indicating empty, are the tanks meant to fill entirely?

Your second photo shows two hoses coming from the top of the tank with no other connection. I suspect that the one draining water is not a vent and that it used to connect to something else, such as the other tank so that both tanks maintain equal levels. If you continue filling the tanks when water starts coming out of the one hose, is there air coming out of the other hose? If so it would be safe to plug the hose that is draining your tank. Tanks should fill nearly to the top.
