Frigidaire Not Cooling!!

If he shows up and starts to install compressor and says they sent the wrong one...........there is a pigtail on wiring harness that needs unplugged to hook up new compressor.

He is here now. Did initial check before installing compressor and there is no freon in it. No visible leaks. May be leaking inside wall which is not good.

Did you get the new compressor installed?

Not yet. He has to order condenser and an external heat exchanger also. They told him to bypass lines in cabinet and go external. I measured about 2" clearance at back of fridge for the lines he has to install. He charged it and said it would be good for a while. Coming back after holiday weekend to install other parts. He wanted to replace it, but Frigidaire told him no. I am going to call them and press the issue a bit.

Grrrrrrr!

Did they ever get your refrigerator repaired??

He came and replaced compressor Friday. Filled system with freon and leak tested. Claimed no leaks. Now temp in fridge is up to almost 60 degrees! Heading back up to camp to get out good out of freezer.. not fixed!!! Grrrrr

Hate to hear that..........

What about the other parts he was ordering??

He decided not to install them. Had gauges hooked up when evacuating and wasn't leaking..

Took fridge back out of hole and discovered below oily substance. Not sure, may just be flux, but compressor is definately not even trying to kick on..

Picture is sideways..

On my refrigerator it was Freon cause the first guy could NOT braze...........

Take a mirror and try to look behind where the guy brazed. There was about half that did not get brazed on mine the first time.

He is going to try again today. Meeting him there this afternoon.. sent him picture and he said that is where the leak is. Looks like on the back side of the brazing area

Yeah it is a real pain for them to try to braze back there. I told the second appliance repair place to NOT send a fat guy..........

Good Luck!! I hope he gets it this time for you.

Yes. Large guy!! Haha. thank you. We are hoping for best

System was full, compressor not running.. Now they want him to replace invertor board(for compressor) and control board(mounted below freezer door). This is getting out of hand.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with all this BS. I don't understand why they just don't replace it already? They replaced my whole fridge because of a dent in the freezer door, when all they needed to do was replace the door?? I'd consider denting the door where it lines up with the island at this point if I were in your shoes.

They would NOT replace my refrigerator and it stopped working one week after buying unit........
So far AFTER last appliance place replaced stuff 1st guy did.....it's been great.
