Has anyone replaced a 74" RV queen mattress with a full size 80"? I have lots of room for it, I'm just wondering about how well sheets stay on & does it droop.

First thing we do with the trailers we’ve had is replace the RV queen with a real queen mattress. Usually just add an extension on the base for the extra 6”, this is what we did with our present trailer.

I installed thicker plywood and supports at the feet. The factory plywood was incredibly thin.

We installed an All’s Well queen mattress. In our case the new Mattress was 60+ LBS which required more powerful struts. All was well, until the bed frame fell apart over time. Needless to say I built a new complete bed frame from the original design except using quality lumber and All’s Well again :)
