Furnace not working

I have a 2022 Jayco Eagle 317rlok. My furnance was working fine this mornong. I took the tanks to get refilled. Once I hooked them back up and started the furnance it was making a weird noise. Like a louder, but muffled than it usually sounds. I set the thermostat to turn the furnance on but just cooler air (not that much air) comes out the vents. Then the furnance we turn off like 5 minutes later without ever hitting the temp I set. I turned off the furnance then stood next to the exhaust when I turned it on. I can hear it click to try to ignite. Sometimes it does and sometimes not. Gas stove is working fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help.

Ours will go through the start cycle 3 times and it will lock itself out and manually have to push the reset button on the furnace itself

did you open the valves on the propane tanks very slowly? Are other propane appliances working normally?

I have always opened the tanks normally. Hook them up then screw them open. Never been an issue before. All other propane appliances work fine (stove and oven. Water heated electrically)

For starters loo, up sail switch cleaning.;)

That is going to be what I try next. Just have to figure out how to access my furnace. There is no outside access. From what I can tell it’s in my bathroom closet underneath the bottom shelf. Might be difficult to get full access to it as the toilet might be in the way

For giggles, turn off the valve(s) at the propane tanks. Let them sit for about 60 seconds. Then re-open the valve(s) VERY slowly. Opening the valves quickly can trigger a safety interlock in the propane tank valve to substantially reduce flow, because it thinks there is a massive leak in the system somewhere. Worth a try.

One way to ensure you have full flow is to get the hot water heater running, and then turn on all the burners on the stove top. Everything should be normal. If the flames on the stove burners are puny, that might indicate that the propane tank safety valve needs to be reset.

I don't know your rig, but in the bathroom on a fifth wheel sounds like an odd place for the furnace. I'm not saying it's not possible, but that location forces the furnace to push hot air down to the main floor...or distribute through ceiling ducts.

Where is the cold air return? The furnace is likely right behind that. Often the panels to which the cold aire return attaches come off to give access to the furnace. Does that bathroom location make sense based on the location of the furnace exhaust/combustion air intake on the outside of the rig?

This first ^^^^

Since you hear the ignitor making a ticking sound it is a waste of time to check the sail switch

Your issues started after LP tank change

The LP tank internal valve (OPD) will, not stop the flow of LP to your RV lines .. this is only an ( Overrill Protection Device )

The ACME hose connections to each tank WiLL cause your issue if you open the LP tank valve too quickly

To clear a tripped ACME valve you need to turn off the LP TANK valve and remove the ACME fitting .. then reinstall and slowly turn on the LP valven

Image of the ACME connection safety poppet valve inside of the ACME QD

Second image is the OPD float assy located inside the LPmtank which has nothing to do with flow of LP

We had a controller board go on a rental RV we were using this past August. Got to our destination and I could hear the blower. Confirmed that the heat was off. Resetting the breaker at least shut it off but then trying it again (turning thermostat up) made it do weird things. Wouldn't ignite or if it did, for just seconds. A cold/rainy 40 degree night. Rental company met us the next morning and in 15 minutes (swapped the board) we were back in business.

I'll bet money and guarantee that your problem is a dusty sail switch that is not allowing electrical contact to fire your furnace. Mine has done it twice on my 2020 29 RKS. Easy to fix once you manage to get the furnace out of the cabinet it is in. You may need a tech to do it for you if you're not handy with such things. I have heard that this is a very common thing. One would think the Jayco would give access to the furnace from the outside as opposed to tearing apart kitchen cabinetry to gain access. Hope this helps.
