Gas Cap

We have a 2016 Jayco Alante 31 AV and have had problems with engine light coming on after a fill up. I do tighten the cap till it snaps 2 or 3 times. The manual has a few reasons for the problem. The light does not flash and usually goes out as predicted after the 3rd cold start and some distance covered. Do I need a new cap or are there other
issues???

I was having this problem with my SUV. I purchased a new gas cap and the problem was solved.
