My 2025 Greyhawk 30z came with the RMVP Flex Power 4000i generator. I do know that Onan was used for several years. Wonder why the change.

I suspect the change was inline with being a more profitable option for Jayco. However, if it is as reliable as the Onan then regardless of the cost, it may be a better generator based on the specs and sound levels. ~CA

Just tossing out some speculation - they're dual fuel. If it's plumbed into the propane, then we'd have another option for running the generator.

List price is $3700, which is what I recall paying for my Onan 4K about 5 years ago. Thus I suspect craigav could be on the reason - cost savings.

Lastly, during Covid, supply chain issues (apparently) saw some RVs coming with Yamaha gensets. Maybe Cummins/Onan was experiencing a similar disruption?

edit: scroll down and, wow, look at the sound level difference!

When I did a tour of the Cummins plant in Mn. where they made generators, I did not have an RV, so didn’t pay much attention. That was pre Covid + a few more years. There was talk inside the plant that Cummins was going to have some other companies produce parts rather than make everything in house. Maybe that didn’t work out so well.

Just read the specs. Wish this was in my 2024. Variable speed uses less fuel and half load it is way quieter and lighter.

New to Jayco Econoline. We just got an old 1988 Jayco today but evidently it did not have a generator door. Someone already stole the catalytic converter and my husband is thinking we should just put a regular pipe under there. Any suggestions? Also need to find a generator door and probably a lot of other small things on the inside. Where can we find parts please? Thanks!!

I think it will be a challenge finding a door online for a 1988 model. My first thought was to see if there are any boneyards (aka. junk yards) around your area? There are quite a few older RVs in the ones around here. It might be more fruitful to see if you can find one there.

As for replacing the cat with a straight pipe. Well, if the O2 sensors are in front of the missing cat, then it is possible things will work with a straight pipe. However, I'm pretty sure it's illegal in most states, and you'd certainly fail an emissions test. Assuming Illinois has them.

My 2015 Onan generator has a bunch of parts made in Italy.

Outstanding to finally see some innovation through competition in this segment!! I bookmarked the page so I can go straight there if/when my Onan ever dies...
