We are retiring next year. Preparing to purchase a Jayco 23MRB. Retirement is in July so we thought we should purchase early and do a few weekend outings to prepare for our 3 - 4 week trips we are planning to take. Have spent weeks viewing YouTube video's about tow weight, check lists, etc. Have a Chevy 2013 Express and after reading Mfg. specs decided to upgrade rear-end to a 2500 model (from a 1500) model. Excited to get moving and open to any suggestions or advice.

Congratulations on the upcoming retirement and new MH and welcome to the JOF.

Spending the first couple of outings close to home is already in your plans, so I won't suggest that. ;)

My other suggestion is to plan on a through PDI so you KNOW how to set up and use your MH. It can be a virtually overwhelming amount information to comprehend; especially if this is your first RV. Both of you should go together, take a checklist, and make a video of it if you can. The PDI is important and manageable, just do your homework and be prepared for it.

Thanks, we are preparing for this. Have searched the web for checklists, if you have a recommendation please forward the link.
