Hi, new to this forum, but nice to see other owners issues and upgrades. We have a 2016 Jayco Seneca HJ, our Girard has failed(cracked copper line). Has anyone here replaced them themselves? Is there enough slack on the inlet/outlet water lines as well as the propane line? Ours is housed in one of the black bay boxes behind our generator and I can’t see any lines going to it. Do I have to remove the bay box? I want to do it myself, retired military engineer, because the shops around here want close to 2K for installation. Thanks for any help on this situation.

Not sure about your model year but my 2022 has a square cut out in the bottom of the bay underneath. Four screws and you will have access to the back of the water heater. Some of the guys have replaced the tankless with a tank model. If you search "water heater" you will most likely find the other posts.

Thanks, I dug around underneath and couldn’t find any access points, have seen some with a round access point on the backside, ours doesn’t have that. If I have to I’ll make my own access point in the back. Thanks again.

I wanted access to the back of mine to put in an actual bypass so I just cut a hole and added a waterproof marine access cover, give you full access to the back of the WH. Worked great and has never leaked.

We have a 2015 FK and our Girard water lines come in from the back, over the center section that is raised above the frame rails. If you take the back panel off from the rear storage bay on the passenger side, you will see the plumbing. If you send me a PM, I can send you the schematic of the water lines to the Girard.
