Grease the WDH to eliminate noise?

There is a greaseless chain lube used on motorcycles that makes an excellent lube for these hitches and you don't get grease all over everything. I have used it a lot on different hitches and even on my motorcycle!

The purpose of the bars is weight distribution, not sway prevention. The friction bar with the tightening lever on it is what prevents/stops sway.

Except that on the Reese that was mentioned, the spring bars provide the sway control as well as the weight distribution. There is no separate sway control device. The spring bars and their hangers provide quite a lot of friction to reduce sway. In the case of the Reese SC, that interface also integrates brake pad materials so that as they wear down over time, they can be replaced. This is as opposed to other hitches like the Equal-i-zer that provide a steel-to-steel friction interface between the bars and the hangers. This is the case with many if not all hitches with "integrated sway control". If you have a separate sway bar, you don't have a weight distribution hitch with integrated sway control.
