Hello!

Excited to join the forum. After years of camping in a tent with my wife and two small children I am looking forward to camping in our newly aquired 2005 Jayco, Jay Series 1206.

A few weeks ago my neighbor stopped by the house to ask my wife and I if we wanted their camper for FREE! I couldn't beleive my ears. Unfortunatly her husband passed away a few years ago and the camper has sat unopened ever since. She opened it up and found that mice had gained access to the inside and chewed holes in the tent. (everything else was spared) and with her only son heading off to college she didn't want to sink money into it and not use it. They had bought it used in 2008 and besides the damaged tent it is flawless.

It has a fridge, toilet and shower, furnace, hot water heater and surge brakes. Now I have to learn how to use everything. It looks like I may need to have the hot water heater fixed as the cover doesnt fit correctly and when I went to look why it seems like the control unit is bent and it doesnt light up with the tube that the flame is created in. Look forward to learning from all of you.

Welcome to the forum! Free is hard to beat, and with a bit of TLC and a few bucks I`m sure you can whip that popup into shape! Post often.

As a former PUP owner, here are some sites that will be helpful for you. For canvas (which you might want to replace), this company was great for us.

For a manual on the PUP, use this site which has manuals you can download for free. It is also a very helpful site if you have any questions or concerns with your PUP

Hope this helps.
