Do anything special for Halloween? We been going to a local state park for the past 10+ years for a Falloween event. It has been a really fun time, even last year when it was cancelled.

The Park puts on a variety of events. Crafting items for the kids, campsite decorations beyond anything you can believe (competition), pumpkin carving, both providing small pumpkins and tools for anyone. Plus pumpkin carving competition (if you choose to participate, you can provide your pumpkin if you wish). After trick or treating they usually have a night hike, ghost stories and astronomy items.

The big event is trick or treating, I would guess we tend to get 200 kids including teenagers coming through. Really fun weekend!

We never do an over the top decorations. Here is a youtube link to our 2019 trip. If you look closely you will see bits of the 4 laser light show units flooding the trees overhead.

Yes, in fact we did a Trick or Treat weekend at our local campground last weekend and will be returning again on Friday to do it again. The kids loved it.

We did a Halloween camp trip at Purtis Creek State Park near Athens Texas about 3 years ago and that weekend they had about 120 Boy Scouts. It was an awesome experience and all the boys were so well behaved and very respectful. The leaders did a fine job with the boys. They did Trick or Treat, but we’re not able to come knock on your door, you had to be sitting out.

Coincidentally we are taking our grandson to a Jellystone Campground this weekend that has a lot of Halloween events.

We just got back from Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus, IN. They do Halloween Weekends all of October and people really go all out. There are a lot of activities for the kids including a fall carnival, trick or treating, costume contests. They also have campsite decorating contest and a Saturday evening party. We have been going there for 10 years and even though my kids don't trick or treat anymore, it is just a great atmosphere.

And another benefit is that Holiday World, a really nice amusement park, is within walking distance.

The campground is very well kept and is pretty large. It does book up really fast though for the Halloween Weekends. I can't recommend this place enough.

The last two campgrounds we went to had Halloween activities like you described. It was great fun! The last one even had a haunted house on site. Some campgrounds start Halloween activities in September in my neck of the woods because they close for the season in early October.

Going to Quarryville Jellystone for Halloween. Usually go the weekend before Halloween but this year, we'll actually spend Halloween there.

Does anybody here dress up for the kiddies? I do...every year.
