Has anyone installed a 2nd A/C themselves?

I have a 2021 27BHB. It came from factory with 50 amp service and spec’d as 2nd AC “ready”. The fuse panel also has a breaker for adding the 2nd AC. I removed the ceiling fan shroud but wasn’t able to quickly find the wires for the 2nd unit. Has anyone done this themselves and can offer insight into where the wires were hiding?

Mine is set up the same for a second AC. When I was planning to install one I contacted StarCraft (Jayco) and asked for a building blueprint to show where it should be mounted, There was no ceiling vent in the bedroom where I wanted to put it. I assumed it would be in the center of the ceiling. When they sent me the drawings it showed that it was actually off center and it was pre-framed with the wire all ready there in a covered outlet.

So I suggest you get the roof blueprint that will show where the framing for the ac is located.

I got this from Jayco. Is that what you are referring to? Or is it more detailed?

It was similar, but a roof diagram that showed all the rafters, the cutouts for the vents, skylights and AC. The interesting part of it was that the measurements were in inches, beginning from the rear of the trailer going forward. My trailer is a 266RKS….it’s 266 inches from the back of the roof to the seam at the front cap.

I ended up finding it. Just had to feel a little deeper through the insulation.
