Has anyone installed a quick connect for BBQ?

I am wondering if anyone has installed or had the dealer install a quick connect feature on their trailer for their portable barbq..

I am not sure if our new Jayflight 28bhs has one, but we did not notice it.

The one we had on our last trailer kept jamming and was in a bad location.

We are considering either having one installed where we want it, or just buying an extra mini tank to go with the webber barbq we will buy...

Suggestions would be appreciated, or if there is one on our unit I would like to know where ...?

The 2006 23B came with one from the factory. It is tucked underneath next to the frame rail below the bracket for the outdoor grill that we don't have. They are handy as all get out. I like to plug my grill or monster burner in there and set it on a picnic table as I'm not too hip on cooking right next to the vehicle.

Ditto as to all Mcfarmall said. Same location on 2010 23k. I have an RVQ but havent' used. Also not too keen on cooking next to fiberglass siding even if it is ok.

On a 22FB that I had, I disconnected the regulator hose where it attached to the black pipe and inserted a "T" fitting, then used fittings and my handy-dandy flare tool to run a copper line out to the side of the trailer to a disconnect. I made a PVC cover for it to keep out debris.

My 28BHS does not have a quick connect. I wish it did!!!

Yes, it is and a shut-off which you need to use. QCs can leak. It comes out at the very front of the trailer. I could have ran it to the rear, but I didn't want to use up my stash of copper tubing,

It is in front of the awning, but that wasn't a consideration. I cook under mine all the time with the Weber Baby Q.

Thanks... I saw the shutoff and that's needed IMHO. I really was just wondering about the location and whether you put it there to avoid having it under the awning.

That line can run your baby Q? Did you remove the regulator off of the grill?

You'll have to remove the regulator from the Baby Q and it and the hose will need QCs.

I got the hose at a local propane place, but you can get them anywhere online. Local is better so you don't have to pay shipping. The hose will come with either NPT threads or swivel flare connectors. It's too lengthy to ty to explain here how to match everything up, so your best bet is to get the hose and the QCs and let your local big box or propane place give you the correct fittings to adapt everything.

Remove the qc from the valve and attach to your q (after removing regulator)

Just as an fyi, we always use our RVQ II grill mounted on the Jayco factory installed bracket. The kit that comes with the grill keeps the grill about a foot away from the tt side wall. The wall is never heated. Larry ps the QC is under the tt just below the bracked and just out of eyesight. A little spray with WD 40 or silicone will keep it from sticking.
