Heater doesnt always kick on w/o reset..?

2006 Jayco Eagle 312 FKS. She'll be 20 yrs old soon... We have the camper on 5 acres and it is stationary. "Misty" is in great shape for her age. And yes those are Wisconsin black bear that visit each spring...

OCCASIONALLY the heat, when set to AUTO HIGH, will not cycle back on by itself. Other times it will. Very intermittent. In order to get the heater started again, I have to flip the main control switch off, and then on again. Then the heat will start and I hear the burner "whoomp" indicating the pilot has lighted, then the heat comes up just great.

I'm up in Northern Wisconsin this week, and last night the temps got down to 25*. Before bed,



I had the heat going fine, was toasty... until about 7am when I got up, it was 46* in the camper and BRRRR. Poor doggo was nearly under the covers with me!

This has happened a few times. The gas is working fine. I'm wondering if there's a fuse I should change, or perhaps my main switch is somehow faulty?

Anybody had this issue? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I would check the flame sensor to make sure it is in the proper position. If it is on the edge, it may not always see that it lit and go into a fault mode. When you are turning it off and on your resetting the fault that caused it to shut down.
