We are a recently retired Air Force family, and we just bought a brand new 2012 Jayco Pinnacle 36REQS after trading in our 2007 Dutchmen 30 ft. TT. This is our first 5th wheel. We traded in our Prius for a Ram 3500 Diesel Dually. That's going to be a shocking change in the fuel budget. We have two daughters, one who is a teenager, and another 10 year old special needs child. I've been RVing since I was a kid, so we're carrying on the tradition to ours.

After all the tours and deployments, I'm looking forward to spending some quality family time with my girls (lovely bride included).

I'm really looking forward to gaining some insight into this new 5th wheel world, and I appreciate a forum such as this to be able to contribute too.

May God bless.

Welcome to Jayco Owners Forum. Glad you joined our bunch. I think you will find that the convenience and extra room of the Pinnacle will help offset the monetary pain at the pump feeding the Ram. Post often and enjoy your new rig.

Welcome to the JOF Dave, Steph, Riley, & Abigail! What a great upgrade to celebrate military retirement with. Thanks for your service to our country. Do you all have plans for a maiden voyage? :)

Welcome aboard - We are just across the Nice bridge in King George County... Our home camp ground is Westmoreland State Park. Lots of MD folks over there...

I will be the only Starcraft 14RT OFF-ROAD POPUP sitting close to the rest room in the B section with HAM RADIO tags on it....

We're thinking about Gettysburg, or maybe surprise Riley with a trip to Hershey Park, PA when it opens. Thanks for the welcome!

Roy, we have some friends who live near there. Not Colonial Beach, but a town that starts with an "M", I think. We are about 10 minutes on the other side of the bridge, and we do intend to get down to Westmoreland State Park. Do they have enough room for a 40 foot fiver requiring 50 amp service? Thanks for all your service to DoD, sir.

Kroak - Must be Montross maybe.... 40 foot may be too big also they only list 20 and 30 amp service at the eelectric sites...

My 17-foot POPUP works great here.... You are way out of our class....

Thanks for the help, Ron. We used to have a couple popups, but our handicapped child is the reason we went bigger. Good luck.
