Hello new member here

I am a new owner of a used 1997 designer series TT.

I am going to be using it full time to cut down on my work commute time (currently 3+ hours a day).

I am a single female and have never owned a TT. So there is much for me to learn.

The TT is located in the Charlotte, NC. area.

Main concerns I have right now is the toilet is leaking at the back near the water input line. Any advice on repairing, replacing toilet are reasonable service to fix it for me would be appreciated.

Also exploring best method to prevent my incoming water hose from freezing. We don't get frigid cold like up north but do get occasional bad weather. Would love to know what others are doing.

Any suggestions on Good books or websites that can educate me on DYI would also be helpful.

Hello Ritzmoon and welcome to Jayco Owners Forum. There are plenty of members here that have had the same or similar problems with their RV and will be glad to offer their help. If you have a way of posting some pics, it helps so others can see the problem and offer solutions. Anyway, glad to have you with us. Post often.

Welcome to the site and full-timing! As Dan said, members are able to help with lots of problems. We all have a few whether our rigs are brand new or older, so don't be upset when they arise. Another good site for info, simply because it's so large, is rv.net. There are others, but I was, and still am compared to many, a newbie and have needed lots of advice. I've found these two sites the most helpful.

You do want to get any water leak problems fixed asap, as they soon lead to expensive damage if uncorrected.

You might get by with fitting pipe insulation around your city water hose. I would avoid a long run of hose that is curled up. Get the shortest piece that will fit. Many parks here have heat tape wrapped around the pipe up to the spigot. I don't know if running it around your hose would be safe, but others will be able to answer you on that question. Some just fill their fresh water tank and don't keep the hose out, but it may not get cold enough there to make that necessary.

A lot of times if your looking for a quick answer, I will Google my question and it will lead you to posts in several sites or just DIY answers.

Looks like some heat tape. I would use the foam pipe wrap tubing myself, seems easier than fiberglass batting.
