Hello all,

We purchased a 2018 Jayco Seneca 37FS from a private party. They originally purchased in Oklahoma. We are trying to get it registered here in TX and the MVD is stating they need something that shows the VIN and empty weight of the unit. Oklahoma titles do not indicate the weight. MVD said there should be a plate or a sticker that reflects the VIN and empty weight and they’ll accept a picture. Does anyone know where this sticker might be located on the unit? We already had it weighed and received a certified weight slip, but it reflects gross weight, not empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Two ways to find out.
Call jayco with your vin and they should be able to send you the information.

Or locate the yellow tag on the passenger side and drivers side. On mine have one on each side.

Do they really want empty weight? The sticker is sort of empty weight but not really. It shows the unit as built with a full tank of fuel and propane.

Or are they asking for a registered weight. The max on mine is 28,000lbs and full ccc of 33,000 if yours is the later 2018.5 unit it will higher. That information is found on the chassis sticker found on the door jamb and the driver visor on mine.

Good luck.

Weight

I just used the CAT SCALE weight when I registered mine - they charge based on the Gross weight so the empty weight isn’t critical - the only time it will ever weigh the empty weight was the day you purchased it because some of your mods will be included when you clean it out to sells it will still weigh more than when it was built.
