After doing much research, I finally decided on a Jayco TT. My hope is to know all the ins and outs of the rv life before retirement (about 10 years) so that I can feel at home on the road. I have just purchased a 2013 Whitehawk. Looking forward to one or two excursions before the cold hits.

Congratulations on your new Jayco and welcome to the JOF. There are several Virginians here and many others who can provide you with answers to any questions you might have.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the warm welcome!:computer time: I have had some time this evening to soak in the different forums and all realize what a gold mine of information can be found on the site. Looking forward to many long camping adventures!

Welcome from yet another Virginia member...

We use the Westmoreland State park as our home camping spot... It's just 25 miles from us here in King George VA.

We also like to head up to the Skyline drive area and Loft Mtn is our best pick site there. Also like to get up on the WVA/VA state line and do some hiding out in the woods. Like the FLAGPOLE KNOB area. My Off-Road POPUP looks great up there...

Welcome aboard...

One more Virginian chiming in here. Congratulations on your new TT, and welcome to JOF. What part of Virginia do you call home ? We are in the Shenandoah Valley near Luray. If you are ever near here, give us a shout. If we can help, we'll do that, too. Enjoy !!

Luray is right up the road!

Hi TinLizzie,
I am just south, in Staunton. I was driving around Luray last weekend on a return trip from visiting my brother and took some time to drive through the Andy Guest S River State Park. It will be on my list to visit come spring. There seems to be a good many private campgrounds in the area as well. Do you have any insight on ones that are located on the river with jayco worthy facilities?
Thanks,
Whitehawkgirl

clap.gif Congrats on the new trailer; and Welcome to the forums.

Photos would be nice. :lizard:

whitehawkgirl - our favorite on the river is right down your way - Shenandoah Valley CG on the Middle River in Verona. We stayed there twice last season. We also liked Hungry Mother SP on a small river down near Marion. Since neither of us is interested much in fishing, we tend to go anywhere that will accommodate our trailer, river or not. There is a spring rally of the Virginia Campers that will be the weekend of April 27, 2013 at Andy Guest. We plan to attend that one. Maybe you would be interested too. Consider this an invitation to join us. We stayed once at Endless Caverns, but do not plan to go back there due to some very steep grades in the park, and roads that lack names, so you can easily get lost. Country Waye, here in Luray, is on top of a good sized hill, with some very nice views. Although it looks like a great campground, we have never stayed there due to being in our backyard. Also it's a little pricey. Jellystone, on the east side of Luray, is nice and has a lot of stuff for the kids. Those are some ideas for you - hope that helps. Let us know if you want more info on the VA Campers Spring Rally - you can shoot us a PM if you like.
