Hey guys! I have a 25 foot, 95 Jayco eagle fifth wheel camper. My thermostat went out and my heat quit in my camper. As I’m boondocking it and it’s winter, it got a tad nippy. I picked up a Honeywell home programmable thermostat. Hooked it up, I now have heat, haven’t tried the ac yet, but when I flick the fan speed from auto to on, I hear the ac relay clicking. I would like to make sure the ac is set up properly. Any ideas what wire color goes where? Thanks in advance for all the help!

What is the make/ model of your ac?
I know you will like the digital I’ve analog model !

Your new thermostat may or may not work correctly. Home thermostats work off of 24 volts AC while RV units use 12 volts DC.

You may get lucky as it appears your model thermostat works with 24 volts plus the old milivolt home furnaces. This may mean that it uses the internal batteries to activate its relays. All that is required to get a furnace or ac to operate is the closing of a relay.

One relay closes to turn on the furnace and a separate one will be used for the ac. I'm not sure how the fan is controlled but assume that there is a relay for it also.

Just get a RV Thermostat which will fit your model, why make things complicated.
The RV TH resets the furnace when it doesn't lite.

It's normally pretty easy to change out to a residential thermostat. I did that on my last TT and found a video and diagram explaining how to cross-check the wiring between the two. You don't need to have voltage supplied to it through the camper if you have a thermostat that works off batteries. Mine ran off of 2 AA-batteries when I put in my camper.
