How to Reset the Battery Disconnect Solenoid

Hello,

Last winter we had to replace the batteries after putting the MH to bed for the winter. This winter we thought we would be smart and remove the batteries and store in the garage. Now the batteries are fine, coach starts up as well as generator, but we have no "juice" to the cab or house.

Saw the following post on another tread: "...in other posts i have read disconnecting the batteries trips the disconnect solenoid and it has to be reset."
Anyone know how to reset the Disconnect Solenoid?

I have not removed the house battery so I have no personal experience, but the owners manual for our 2014 Greyhawk states:

"The battery disconnect feature should be used to disconnect the motor home from house battery power during periods of storage or during maintenance. The solenoid must be engaged for the 12-volt house electrical system to operate. Never depress the momentary battery disconnect switch for longer than 1 second. Depressing and holding the switch down will disable the battery disconnect solenoid. Should this occur the main ground cable for the house batteries must be removed for 1 minute to re-enable the solenoid operation."

So why doesn't just reconnecting the house battery re-enable the solenoid?

There should be a switch right inside the door.

Thanks for the info "NC" and "Grumpy", we had hoped their would be a magical "reset" switch to resolve the problem. We installed a new battery disconnect switch at the entrance stairs, in case it "went bad". We've checked all the fuses, triple checked the batteries and still not able to get "juice" (no radio, lights, appliances - basically nothing runs, other than the engine and the generator will start.)

IIRC there is also a fuse at or near the solenoid, you may want to check that.

Like Grumpy said, there is a fuse in the relay base. If the fuse is blown, the battery disconnect will not work. It is one serious PITA to get to.
