Here is another picture with a flashlight on it. It is just inside the front door on the wall to the rear bathroom.
There is another one outside under the outside speaker below the awning. The second picture will show you the size of the piece I am trying to identify.
That piece in the center looks to be a cap and most likely removable as there is a ring showing up around it. See if it pops out. If afraid of breaking it, take out the screws and see what’s behind it on the inside one.
Here is a link to a old thread. It looks like a temperature sensor. Be careful not to lose the wires in the wall if you open it up. Read the thread on it.
I have a 2022 Pinnacle with two air conditioners with a BM Pro system. One A/C works great, but the other A/C's thermostat temperature fluctuates 2 to 3 degree in seconds, which turns on the the A/C for a second or less or less than 30 seconds at times depending on what the temperature is...
norty1, you are so experienced and have great memory. Those are exactly what you said. They are indoor and outdoor temperature sensors! You can buy them online and they have a 18” lead on the back side.
Great job!
Curious how it works
Since it's a temperature sensor for the AC, I guess the thermostat is not located in a central area? Does it sense the heat as well? The removeable looking cap is strange...looks like you plug something in?
How does it work I wonder
I have a ceiling mounted classic AC that is controlled by the knobs on the unit, not the thermostat which is for heat only. You'd think I'd have one of those sensors for my set up
norty1, I’m thinking that these have no real connection to the T-stat. They probably are for all the “Smart” electronic gizmos so that you can tell the indoor and outdoor temperatures on you Smart display or your Smart Phone. Sound right?
I agree. They likely work with the electronic gizmos that monitor and display. A way to check would be to verify if the ac and heat are controlled by thermostats.
