I'm New Here and NEED HELP!

I have a 2005 Jay Flight 25RKS and am having electric issues. I have checked the breakers and fuses and they are all good. My dinning light and most of the outlets are not working. Is there another fuse/breaker box that I am missing somewhere? I am at my wits end with this. I don't have a user manual with this either. If anyone has a manual that I could download would be great. As I can not find 1 online. Also if anyone has any ideas of what I should do or try, I'm all in to hearing them. Any help would be appreciated. I am new at all this camper stuff but I am learning! Thank you ahead of time. SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!! LOL

For the outlets, check your gfci outlet, usually in the bathroom.

I checked them as well and they are good as well. The bathroom, kitchen and the outside one. What would cause a surge bar to fry? I didn't have any problems till that happened. And now my fridge doesn't work right either since this happened. Thank you y'all for help!

Sounds like you took a massive hit, like a lightning strike.
Surge protectors do deteriorate over time or have taken several hits.
I would check the voltages at the outside post first, then at your converter and breaker panel.

But what will really help, is going around to all of your appliances and components and writing down manufacturer, make and model numbers. Then google up the individual stuff.

Jayco's "manuals" are so generic, that I found them near useless when I was starting out.

With the manufacturer's manuals, Youtube and this forum, you'll be a pro in no time.

By surge bar, do you mean a surge protector that you plug in ahead of the cord to the RV? Most of these so called surge protectors will take a limited amount of surge (typically lightning) and dissipate it to protect equipment once. The MOV’s inside typically blow and are not easily replaceable. Sounds like you had a lightning strike somewhere near your RV. So, for the refrigerator, high probability the printed circuit board controller has been damaged. The light could be same thing if it is LED. LED’s are derived by PCB. As far as the receptacles, two things are possible. The GFCI receptacles have PCB’s too, possibly blown component, or the wire connections to the receptacles have come loose. But would assume the GFCI is fryed. Contact your RV insurance and see if they cover any of this damage. They might. Wish you had said your Surge protector blew in your first post.

I highly recommend getting a voltmeter and taking some measurements.

It appears you are dealing with 2 separate issues - lack of 12 volts and missing 120 volts. To start troubleshooting you should verify that you have voltage at the source first. Is there 12 volts at the battery? Is there 120 volts at the outlet you are plugged into?

If you don't have a battery then a loss of 120 volts would also knock out all 12 volt items such as lights and controls (furnace, water heater, etc.).

I just reread your post and you mentioned that "most" of your outlets are out. If some outlets work then you are getting some 120 volts in. Is your rig 50 amp? If so, you may have lost a leg of the 50 amp input which would kill 1/2 of the 120 volt things.

It might help if you could list exactly what is and what isn't working.

No, our greyhawk did that too, turns out the switches went bad all of a sudden, gave no clue why, but our dining light, the living room lights on over couch and the overhead bunk lights just stopped working, pry the cover off with a thin piece of plastic or cardboard so the covers don’t break, unplug switches and try plugging in a new one. Ours plugs the same, two just stopped replaced and dadah . Hopefully yours will be as easy as ours was to fix. Good luck.

24RKS Here - Follow the power

I have a 2008 24RKS. We can compare notes.
The power comes from the house/power post. Then goes through the power cord to a junction box. From there it goes to the 120VAC lines and outlets.

The converter is powered through an outlet and produces 12VDC.
Check the power at the house/post and then at the junction box. My power cord junction box is under the fridge, next to the water pump. Do you have power there?
My converter is plugged into a 120VAC outlet behind the circuit breaker/fuse panel. I removed a thin board to the left and under my sink to access my converter. I replaced mine with a Progressive Dynamics model that would not boil my batteries.
Check the 12VDC power coming out of the converter. Check the circuit breakers in the panels to see if you are getting power there.
This boils down to follow the power. From the house/post to the endpoint. Break it all down to simple, easy steps. The multimeter is your friend. I keep one in my trailer at all times when I am on the road.

I find GFI tricky to reset
Check that again &/ or ask neighbor to give 2 nd opinion. Ensure battery charged. Ensure battery connections are clean. Check battery "disconnect" lever setting. If you have wiring for 2 batteries but use only ONE then ensure BOTH sets of wiring are IN use.
