Welcome to the forum!

If you want some more state park action, look to the north my friend!

Looks like you enjoy the lakeshore by the pictures.

Try Warren Dunes, Van Buren, P.J. Hoffmaster, Ludington, Tawas Point, Harrisville, Wilderness, The Straits in Michigan.

Some inland parks that are reportedly nice are Rifle River and Hartwick Pines.

I'm glad to hear you are also a Geocacher. I have been caching for about 2 years with the same username as here. I have a Garmin GPSMap 60 and an eTrex Legend.

We love our Minnesota State Parks-very diverse. Lots are on lakes or rivers for canoeing. Many also have bike trails. Unfortunately, most of them close their campgrounds around October 15th. Try some out next summer.

I know you mentioned out of state parks, but I wanted to get a plug in for S. Indiana. We have some great SP's down here too. Our favs are Spring Mill, Turkey Run, Shakamak, Lincoln and Harmonie. There are still many more we haven't made it to yet.

We heard Dunes is one of the best as well. Wish we lived closer. Would be at least a 6 hour pull. Might do a week + trip soon and hit some SP's up north!

As to MI parks we have done in the past couple of years that you might like would include:

North Higgins, Orchard Beach, Petoskey, Aloha, Indian Lake, Algonac, Burt Lake and Mitchell which are all State Parks on large lakes.

Others include Platte River Fed Forest, Brighton Rec (small lake), Sleepy Hollow, and several in the UP.

Enjoy your trips if you're coming north but remember to make reservations if in the summer vacation months.
