...but it's time!
Nine years ago, plus a month and a few days, the wife and I bought a new Jayco 20MRB. I also joined this Forum about the same time. As you can see, I do have a few posts under my belt here (besides the extra Murff under it) so I'm not new here. I must say, this is one of the best run Forums on the internet! The moderators know how to moderate fairly (yes, I have fractured a guideline or two and have been called on it, and rightfully so).
But, with S.W.M.B.O* mobility issues and our advancing ages, it's time to no longer hitch up the 20MRB and let someone else enjoy her. As has been documented in many posts here, it has had numerous upgrades, warranty work and more.
The rig has been to Ohio in 2015, New Mexico in 2016, Massachusetts in 2017, Alabama in 2018 and Montana in 2019 to attend the International Coleman Collectors Club Conventions. It has also been the "hosts" trailer at a number of regional Coleman Collector campouts here in the Pacific Northwest.
We purchased her from Blade RV in Mount Vernon Washington. Early on, we noticed the floor was soft in a few places. (There are a lot of threads on this subject on this Forum). Blade did some maintenance and thought they had it fixed. However, around May of 2017, we noticed the floor seemed "soft" in places, again. We brought the rig back to Blade and they agreed the floor needed work but it would be expensive as the trailer was just out of the warranty period. I asked Blade to contact Jayco to see if they would consider some "goodwill assistance" and cover the repair. The service manager said he would try, but not to expect any.
Two days later, we got a call from Blade saying that Jayco would take care of the floor. I'm not sure who was more surprised, the service manager or Mrs. Murff and myself. The only thing we had to do was look at new Jaycos to see what floor covering we wanted. Once Jayco sent the new floor covering, Blade's tech went to work. (This was when Jayco was NOT owned by Thor).
After about two weeks, Blade called to tell us the rig was ready. The Mrs. was less optimistic than myself as to how the repaired floor would look but to our surprise, it was beautifully done. We asked to speak to the technician that did the work and I asked him if the repair was done from the top or bottom and he replied, "both".
Anyway, my point of making this post, is to tell all of you (well, most all of you) how much I have enjoyed being a part of this community making some of you laugh with my jokes, learning things from you more experienced campers (some who must be really, really old since I've been RVing since 1983) and posting a few product reviews, that I hoped were helpful to some.
The rig will be going up for sale in a few weeks. After nine years, it will need new brakes and new tires but our asking price will reflect the cost of these items. It just seems fair.
I'll stop by here off and on as this Forum, and all of you, have been a part of my life for the last nine years!
