We have a 24RBS with a jack knife sofa. The sofa is getting pretty uncomfortable to sit on. We were thinking about replacing the foam padding on the seat part with memory foam. The fabric is in good condition. Has anyone attempted this and do you have any suggestions. Or should I just purchase a new sofa?

Stopped at a local furniture upholstery shop and he wouldn't do it and suggested an automotive upholstery shop.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry if this is a second post, don't know if the first one went through.

Search for posts under my name (PaulB12), I think I posted how I did mine.

If not I'll post some pics, I'm being lazy, just got back from camping trip and had to install new dishwasher.

Update, you do need to remove the cable running the middle and reinstall after adding new foam.
So far it's working, much more comfy.

P.S. - not easy for this arthritic fingured person, but got the job done.

Thanks everyone for the info. Think I'm going to try the cardboard repair first. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Doesn't work, that's what I tried first.
Just saying, you can try though.
Thinking about it I used thin luan plywood instead of cardboard, didn't work.
The problem is is springs dug into the foam.
I left old foam in and used 2" high density foam and burlap straps under the springs.
