Jay Feather 25RB Owners

We have the 25rb, wanting to use the outdoor shower hose to really shower any built something for that so a tarp/sheet can be hung around or am I better off just buying a outdoor shower

Pop-up outdoor shower is what I'd go with.

New 2024 25RB campers

We bought our first TT this spring. Our last tent camping trip with the “Invasion of the Food Stealing Raccoons” was the last straw. Even at my age I still consider myself an Eagle Scout…. so moving to a TT was an acceptance of where we are now in our life travels. Our first TT camping trip was an education in a) how to read the manual while alarms are beeping, b) why we need a Honda quiet generator, c) soooo many tanks and how fast they fill….. Among the many other small things we are learning each and every trip. 😎 But, we absolutely LOVE ❤️ TT camping —> Lightning Storms are not a frightening event, AC and Heat is such a life changer, Sleeping in a bed that does not deflate in the middle of the night, heading to the ‘potty’ at 3AM is not a lesson in finding a flashlight and wildlife management, etc.

Lots of ideas for upgrades…..
* upgrade batteries/solar/equipment for more capacity and move to a 24V system.
* looking into Starlink… but have several questions - share same service at home and on camper? VS Upgrade Antennas for old-school TV
* add cameras…back, sides, hitch…..
* upgrade the jack style levelers….. or add the between-the-wheels jack braces?
* Outside gas grill…. It only has one gas burner that does not cover the entire cooking surface…. Will be looking for a better RV gas grill. Love the cooking station. Starting to use the outside frig for my BBQ and drinks/beer.
* Faucets, door handles, vent covers, topper, etc…..
So many ideas, but want to pull only so much weight…..

Some things I have questions on:
* The door is a PITB to close. The screws for the plate are stripped…not a lot of metal in the door jamb. Will mention to dealer when we get the warranty maintenance done.
* gravity fresh water fill says 1/3 full when water starts to pour out of the small overflow pipe below inlet. Lots of talk in the forums. Will talk to my dealer. * The “1/3” full fresh water tank lasted 1.5 days of normal kitchen use (no showers and we used the camp bathroom next door). How long should a 35 ish gallon fresh water tank last for 2 people? I am thinking 5-7 days….. but I have never measured our water use…. 🧐

I am getting 16 mpg with my F150 turbo V6 with the tow pkg. Now I know why it has a 35 gal gas tank….. 😳 We really like this combo of the Feather 25rb and the F150. Pulls well in Vermont/NY mountains and starts/stops without issue. Will probably upgrade the towing capacity when we get a new truck.

Looking forward to seeing this beautiful country over the next several years. See you out there.
JW and Penny

Congratulations on your new 25RB.

I think your FW tank is more than 35 gallons

I use a flow meter when filling my FW tank. When mine is between 45-48 gallons it will overflow out the drain tube. Turn off water, let it settle and SLOWLY top off again.

The FW tank indicator lights are unreliable. I never look at it.

Is the pantry big enough for a washer/dryer setup?
Its very rare that there is room for a normal rv combo washer/dryer unit in any TT. Of course everything is possible if you wish to do some custom work . But water is always a consideration, both in and out, unless you are stationary on a site or your own land. There are compact units for small loads that you can carry in your tow vehicle.

25RB Dinette Slide Out

Added a slide out under the dinette bench seat for less than $42.00. I did a lot of measuring to make sure I only cut once. Hopefully the method I describe below for construction will work for you if you try to build one. It sure beats removing the seat cushions every time you want something from below. I constructed the slide out using the following material:
1 - 1"x3"x4'
1 - 1"x4"x4'
1 - 1"x4"x8'
1 - 3/8"x2'x4' sheet of plywood
2 - 48" shelf-tracks
1 - pack of wood screws #10 1-1/4" long and 1 pack of #10 3/4" long

Take one of the cross frame members you cut and make sure it fits snugly inside the dinette bench 1"x1" frame on the floor. As you will notice in picture #1, the side frame sits on top of both front and back cross frames. Before attaching a side frame to the cross frame member, attach the shelf-track first to the top of the side frame (pic 1) with the #10 3/4" screws and then secure to the cross frame with #10 1-1/4 screws (pic 3). This method gave me enough clearance over the front lip of the cabinet to pull out the slide (pic #2). I used the existing screw holes in the track and enlarged them a bit so the head of the screw sits lower in the hole. This will allow for the slide to pull out easier. When cutting the width of the slide out of the plywood, do not cut to the exact width from rail to rail. It needs to be a bit shorter to clear the screw heads on the track and to provide an easier pull and push. The 1x3 lumber was cut to length to close up the ends of the frame. The two end pieces sit on top of the cross frame pieces also. The slide frame was secured to the floor using the #10 1-1/4" wood screws countersunk. Insert the slide through the open door (pic #4), throw on a coat of paint, and you should be good to go. I did pinch the sides on the shelf track a bit to provide a more snug fit for the slide.
very nice, I'm defiantly attempt this LOL, will follow everything as you said, hopefully when finished it'll look your set up, I have the same camper as you. again thanks for detailed post. happy camping

My $40 TPMS works great. Can be plugged in or works via solar as well. It's been spot on all the time that I check it against the digital gauge on my air pump

This is great! They Loog so nice. Thank you for sharing your details. I was just looking into bins or something that'll work for the space under the seats and here you are giving us the detailed plans for an actual sliding panel/drawer. I have a U dinette, so mine will be shorter. I'd add a small piece of wood, bottom back, so when you pull, stuff doent 'shoot' off the end, inside the cabinet, as you pull.

I can't understand why there is an extra propane line capped off. Our 2021 25RB has only the quick disconnect for the grill. Might be for propane accessories like a Weber BBQ, propane generator, etc. Maybe the dealer or Jayco Customer Service would know.
probably for 2 way fridge option.

I have the same one. Works really well. I've released air from the tires, purposely to test it. Within a few seconds of pressure release, I can hear the alarm sounding from the main unit, in the truck. I have crappy vision and I can see the tire pressure digits just fine, as it sits up on the dash of the F150. I use the little non-slip pad that came with it. It never budges.

I looked at the tymate ones this morning but must have overlooked the ones rated over 87 psi. for the 40 to 50 or 60 bucks.

I paid $50. Right now, with 'clipped coupon' you can get it for $56 -4 sensor model (0-87 PSI)

Yes, but the added link you added showed up to 145 psi. My tires begin at 80 psi when cold.
ohhhh.you have different tires on your camper. My size Goodyear endurance are 65PSI cold and I inflate to 80 for standing in the winter (as recommended by Goodyear)

Yeah mine is different model, it didn’t come with a pad but it came with double sided tape where I put somewhere, I like to put it on my windshield cuz it can be charged by solar but where I wanna put it up by rear view mirror or have window tint and I don’t want to mess it up.
