Hi there. I was wondering what hitch ball height people find is best for towing a Jay Series 806. I don't pick up the new camper until the spring, but want to get a draw bar with the optimal drop or rise to keep the trailer fairly level. Thanks.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum Parker. Actually, I don't think we knew that until we got our tv to the dealer to get hooked up to the tt. Sorry, can't help there. Where will you take the tt for it's maiden voyage? :)

Thanks

Thanks for pointing me towards that manual! I thought I was going to have to wait till the spring to see the actual hardcopy.

Would you believe that for the hitch ball height it says to make your vehicle and loaded trailer level and make a note of the measurement!? If it's not level, adjust accordingly. Well, duh! Not exactly the answer I was looking for.

As for where we'll be camping... not sure yet, but will probably be in and around south-central Ontario.

Well my idea is park the TT on level ground (concrete if possible) and level out the trailer using the tongue jack. Then measure from the hitch down to the ground.

Here is the manual for my Eagle...

I'm new to RVing with a TT on order and was advised that these steps can't occur until the unit is ready for delivery and ready to be coupled to the TV. Everything else is ready to go, wiring harness, electric brake controller & hitch platform.
