New to the forum, just purchased 2024 38RKFB. Was wondering is there away to disable jayvoice? It will pick something up on the TV and turn on lights or turn off lights. It has also turn on the AC on and heat as well. It's starting to get annoying.

In two years never had that happen ?? Something is not right!!

I suspect a bad voice unit.

I also found a forum post by abelsjackie who had another issue with his JayVoice. You might ask how that was resolved in a Private Message.
Here is the forum posting: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f6/jayvoice-loud-confirmation-beep-and-my-dogs-105342.html

Please post your resolution. :)

dwood having the same issues as I was reading your quote to my wife all our lights came on along with the heat pump, yes, it's very annoying.

Hello all! Has there been a resolution to this issue. We are constantly having the same thing happen. Thought it was funny at first but not funny when the heat pump comes on unintentionally.

We have the same camper, just got it in may. it does the same thing, how did you get it off the ceiling? afraid to yank too hard and bust something:)

Honestly I think it just popped off but I don’t remember. I know there weren’t any screws. Once the cover is off, there is one small connector you can unplug.

Jayvoice turns on heat

My 2025 38FBRK does the same thing. It turns off the main AC and turns on heat. I am in Texas and no heat needed. It also turns lights on and off. And I get get different responses to the same commands. I would love to leave it for the lights and turn off just the ability to turn on and off the AC. Wish it could be programed. I miss my Alexa to control my lights.

Have not purposely disabled it, just do not use it. We used the JayCommand a few times for fun after we purchased our trailer and stopped using it as we prefer the BMPRO and wall pads.

Update on my issue, I did unplug the unit and haven't plugged it back in. The unit just twist off and and after unplugging it I just replaced it back in the ceiling.

Thats an odd issue, with my unit you have to wake it up with " hey jayco" before it does anything.

We never use it.

The only time I use it, is when I walk in with a hand full of stuff and say Jayco.....Living room lights. :)

We have dogs in our heat pump and furnace were coming on randomly which is not a good feeling when you live in Florida and it’s 100° outside. Definitely seems like a liability. The company would want to address, but I was unsuccessful. Getting any resolution just kept sending me to voicemail. I followed the direction in this thread. It was able to disable mine. Thank you for confirming this wasn’t a isolated issue.

Our Jay Voice is the most annoying “feature” I’ve ever seen on a trailer. Like others have said, it will pick up a word or phrase from the TV and turn something on without us saying a word. It could be the exterior lights, the fan, the A/C, the furnace. It’s always something different, but the worst thing is it won’t respond to my verbal commands to turn them off. We can’t watch a movie without that stupid thing turning something on at least 5 or 6 times per movie. Which means we have to pause the movie while I get up and walk over and manually turn off whatever this idiotic contraption turns on. I hate it! I’ll definitely be unplugging it.
