Hi anyone out there have probllems hitting your power steps when going up different elevations or speed bumps. I went over a speed bump and now my steps are bent sideways. While going over the bump I heard the loud noice and cringed. I am very careful, drive very slow and take care of my RV. I have gone to Camping World Jayco and Lippert to see if they will cover the damage. I feel that the stairs are way too low. From the ground to the bottom of the stair the clearance is 6.5 inches. Every other class C RV I measured it was 8- 10 inches. I watched as other RV cleared the speed bump that I hit. Surprisingly, there is no guidelines or set height in which the stairs should be set. Is anyone else out there having an issue or have gone to jayco regarding this issue?

I hit my power steps entering into a Walmart parking lot. there was an incline going in. My RV is 32 ft long so that made it more likely to hit. I should have gone in at an angle like all those low rider cars the young kids drive.

I had to bend it back somewhat with the 2 ft. pry bar and rubber mallet I carry along with me just to get it to extend the step out. I blame myself for it. It still works, but doesn't look good.

Our Entegra Esteem (just a fancy Jayco) is also like that. It sits too low. I have to be really careful or the jacks drag. Parking lot speed bumps are the worst.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your response. I'm glad I am not the only one out there. Jayco said they have never had any complaints
