Hello,

We have just purchased a Jayco Jay Feather 24RL 2024 and the converter's fan is running almost all of the times night or day even when connected to shore power. Trying to find out if someone has the same experience. What I have been able to find is the GFCO 8540 AD converter's fan will run if 5 amp or more current draw. The fridge is a Lippert Ever*Chill 12 V the running amp draw is 5.3 and according to tech it will run at least every hour night or day. Converter installed entry door near bedroom.

Would appreciate any feedback or comments. Could the converter be too small or could there be that the converter was not properly matched since the fridge is only 12V.

Thank you,
Richard.

The converter will only operate when connected to shore power. It "converts" 110 to 12 volt.

If you are in a hot climate, it will tend to run all the time. At least our 19 trailer does.

The fan runs that way on all converters to keep them cool whether a 40 amp or 60 amp has nothing to do with the max output of the converter. You have to remember it is also trickle charging your battery.

Thank you for your reply. I think if I am not mistaken, the information that I have received was, that the fan will work with load but not temperature.

Thanks for the reply. The fan noise is keeping us awake at night and wondering if the experience is the same with others or if there is something to be done beside shutting down the breaker for the converter"
