I just read a couple of posts in the form that I really hope we don't see a lot more of and if the moderators reading your help would be appreciated. It started out simply enough as someone airing a grievance about people walking Through the camp sites Then it went down hill when some poster stated something about Thomas Jefferson leading us down the road to socialism or something like that. Then another poster referenced about something about the commies. This is a forum for RVers. It is not a political forum or Facebook, etc. I respect everyone's opinion but I just don't want to read about it in our RV forum. The moderators help in policing these off-topic posts would be appreciated.

That's what the little red triangle to the left of each post is for. The mods can't catch all of the nonsense.

It's not necessarily "nonsense." Many of the points made are not nonsense. In fact, many of the views expressed make a ton of sense. The point is that the JOF is not the appropriate place for political commentary. The JOF community statements and moderators make this clear.

The irony is that just as one is disgruntled with the lack of civility and decency in our world, they in turn disrespect the purpose of this forum when they take the conversation down the political road. I had to come to terms with this myself. I do a whole lot of tongue biting these days. I see spots where I could launch a poignant rhetorical strike, but I want to respect the purpose and tone of this community. I feel bad when I violate the Forum's purpose.

For those of us who grew up in more civil times, it's getting harder by the day. The reprobate mind is running amuck everywhere. This world is going nuts. But misappropriating my words on a platform with an explicit purpose only adds to the civil breakdown. I know folks are fearful, angry, grieved, looking for answers, and wondering what in tarnation happened to us. That's completely legit. I totally relate. However, I want to live out the values I was taught, and two of the biggest ones are "doing unto others" and "respecting others' property and freedom."

I must and desire to respect the JOF's stated purpose and community vision. I am grateful for a place where I can turn off the trouble in my mind and heart.

Sometimes I choose this option, rarely though as I don't mind other RVr's opinion even if I disagree with it, as long as it is sincere and not directed in a derogatory manner to anyone. ~CA

Yes it is nonsense! Right from the dictionary.

non·sense
/ˈnänˌsens,ˈnänsəns/
Learn to pronounce
noun
1.
spoken or written words that have no meaning or make no sense.
"he was talking absolute nonsense"
2.
foolish or unacceptable behavior.
"put a stop to that nonsense, will you?"

And as I said they can't catch it all, so report it. That's what the button is for.

I agree that the comments are unacceptable on the JOF. I do not think they are foolish, and that is how I thought you were using the term. In English, words have connotations and contextual applications that go well-beyond the dictionary. No worries, I follow you.

"Nonsense", or not, is subjective. "Making a ton of sense" is also subjective. Much of the non Jayco conversations in question are subjective as opposed to objective.

Agree on this forum not the appropriate place for such non Jayco personal subjective comments.

Moderators Note:

Of course there are times that one of the Site-Team members catch questionable posts on our own. But, as mentioned above the vast majority of the time, we are alerted by the membership using the reported post process.

To review the process for anyone who isn't familiar, if and when you find a post/thread/content on JOF that you find questionable, click the red triangle at the bottom left corner of the post. A small dialog box will open to allow you to list a brief description of the issue. Once you click submit, the Site-Team will be notified directly by the system of the post in question. We will then review the content and take the appropriate action.
