Ok guys I hope I can get some help here I have been trying to figure out why I cant get the slide out back in. I can get it to move a few inches and that is all. It is a rack and pinion style slide. I tried to manually bring it in and it does the same, only comes in a few inches then you can no longer manually turn the nut on the motor.
I checked the teeth as best I can on the rack and they all seem fine. The slide does not appear to be hitting anything. I removed the motor thinking there must be a problem inside but it spins without any problems once removed.
I'm not familiar with the names for some of the parts so I'm going to use pictures I think the problem might be the part that the motor connects to (pic 1,2,3,4) I was able to fit a flat screwdriver into the same slot that the motor fits into Motor slot (Pic 4) when I turned it with the screw driver I got the same result only moved the slide the same as with the motor. I want to remove this part to see if I can simply push the slide in by hand. Any ideas how to remove it? There is a pin the you looks like it goes all the way through that you can see in the first 3 pics. I tried using a socket and a hammer to knock the pin through but it only moved a little bit and stopped. Pic 5 is the part of the motor that goes into Pic 4
Any ways I hope this makes sense I can send more pictures if needed thanks.
