Kitchen faucet inop

2007 Greyhawk 30 GS Kitchen faucet does not flow water. When on city hookup it works somewhat but takes awhile to start flowing. Using the pump it barely dribbles. All other faucets work normally. I took the screen out of the faucet but was not clogged. It's a three piece faucet with nozzle, handheld sprayer, and hot/cold valve. Thanks for any help.

There are several other current threads running on what may be the same problem and you might start with the faucet strainer. Unscrew it and clean it out. You might also drop it in a class of vinegar for a few hours to remove calcium build up. You can also purchase the strainers at any hardware store.

I had the same problem on my lightly used kitchen faucet. Removed the strainer which screws up into the outlet of the faucet with pliers and a rag to prevent scratching. Amazed to find not one filter but 4 layers of screen wire piled on on top of the other. Cleaned one with vinegar and flow returned to normal! Takes more time to find vinegar, pliers and rag the do the job.

Anybody else find multiple screens? Curious why the Chinese would install that many.

It sounds to me like there is a clog or pinch in the water supply to the faucet. I hate to say it, but it's going to require some research and flexibility. And probably a bucket. I'd start by disconnecting the line at the faucet and see if there is water there. (That's what the bucket is for.) If no, repeat the process further on down the line closer to the water supply (pump or city). If yes, you probably have a bad faucet.

If the faucet and the sprayer are both doing it on hot and cold, I would suggest you disconnect the lines and see if something is in them. While off, point them into a bucket and have someone turn the water on for a second or two. If lots of flow both hot and cold, then replace them and pull the cartridge out of the faucet. That’s the only thing left.

ME TOO!, I like the bucket idea if you have screw on fittings vs. glued on like mine. These are the cheapest faucets made (or Jayco will change to them soon). I can also be just a bad shut off cartridge or stuck valve. So test the pre-faucet flow and then go find a new faucet. Moen would be my choice, lifetime guarantee and they stand behind it!.
