Landing gear rust

On one side of my LH landing gear, I am starting to see a 6” vertical area of rust beginning. This is the only area this is occurring. I’m looking for suggestions on how to remove it, prep the area and dress it up. Thanks in advance.

Wire brush and then Fluid Film.. it penetrates the metal.

Thanks Grumpy. Did that today. Now it looks like I will need to apply a little spray paint to dress it up.
