Leaving car hooked to TT?

Random question here. Is there any reason why you couldn't leave your TT hooked to your car, while parked at a campground? (We just bought our very first TT and are thinking of all kinds of questions!) Anytime I've seen someone with a TT, the car is always parked to the side, or something.

At the campground I always disconnect for 3 reasons. First to easily level the TT, Second, to have a car / truck to go places with and finally to lessen the load on the tow vehicle's springs.

If it is a short stop (i.e. arrive late at night and leaving early the next morning you could stay hitched but unplug your electric cord from the tow vehicle to avoid draining your car battery. If the campground is your final destination you should unhook. This will allow you to properly level the tt and also remove the strain and bounce from your tv suspension.

Two weeks ago I loaded up in my driveway the night before camping. My wife and I both work in the same town which is already about halfway to the campground. I decided to pack everything the night before, fridge and all, and then just take the camper to work. No sense coming home, especially in rush hour.

Anyway, to make things even easier I hitched up to my truck the night before so I could just go in the morning. Luckily I was still loading after hitching up when I noticed my fridge wasn't working and it was full of food! Everythi g looked level when I hitched but I guess I wasn't. It was also after 9 with little lighting. Lol

My point is, unhitched upon arrival. I have a flagpole holder that mounts to the receiver of my truck so I have to unhitched for that anyway.

If we're just travelling through - staying in a site for only the night with no intention of driving anywhere - and can easily level the trailer without putting strain on either the trailer or TV..then, yes, I've been known to take the lazy way out and leave the TV hooked up to the trailer. But I always lower the stabilizers, the tongue jack etc. and do a full walk-around before I drive away in the morning!

when we travel, we might just be a quickie overnight where we will park hitched only if we can 'level' the tt. When "boondocking" at a WM etc, we stay hitched also. No matter, when 'camping' overnight hitched, we always make sure to keep the front-back level so it doesn't affect our running fridge.

Alot of camp sites dont have enough room to stay hooked up.. Usually we back in the trailer and get it all setup and there is just enough room left for the truck to kinda nose in at a 45 degree angle to park it and not be hanging out on the park road...

back when i used to surf and boondock in my old 1008 pop-up (which i still have)... used to 4X4 down beaches, i never unhooked... i would actually use the tow vehicle (xterra 4WD) to level up... the camper was lifted 4" so it matched up with the xterra pretty good, level wise... and we weren't going anywhere, most of the time, that the camper wasn't going as well...

man, i dragged that poor thing on some wild trips.
