LED Awning Lights Getting Dim

Under-awning lights on my 2016 Jay Feather 28RLSW have been gradually getting more and more dim in the 3 1/2 years we've owned it. When we first bought it you could read at night very easily. Today you'd be hard-pressed to see that they're actually on.

The safety light under the stairs has no issue, it's on the same circuit.

Suggestions on where to look for the problem? Or do I need to replace the LED light strip completely?

Thanks!

Roger

Yep just as Sean said. Check grounds. I would even check the voltage being supplied to the strip. Our strip doesn't look very environmentally sealed and I'm sure over time, moisture will take it's toll on the system. Could be anything from a pinched wire, loose connection or even one of the LED drivers on the strip could be going out, or even a bad or corroded solder joint on the strip.

I bought my used 2015 Whitehawk 2 years ago and had the same problem, after trying different fixes I bought a light strip from Amazon which can be cut to length and replaced the old ones, an amazing difference and you can choose which color you want, I went for blue.

Followup...

I finally tested the voltage at the LED strip's connector outside - it's 13.4v DC. That looks pretty good. Speaking as a bit of an electrician, it's hard to see how this could be a ground issue, when a two-wire connector is showing good voltage.

Those who suggested a ground issue, could you clarify your thinking for me?

Thanks!

Roger
