I have a 2023 pinnacle 36fbts and I'm wondering what is involved with changing to lithium batteries?
yes!So with no solar all that is necessary is to flip the switch from LA to Li.
OK here goes the comments. Gmbird: You actually don't have to do anything. Your Lithium batteries will charge to somewhere between 12.8 VDC and 13.1 VDC with what is already on your RV. But, if you want to increase the longevity and get the most out of those lithium batteries, you will need to charge them to 14.6 ish VDC. Lithium batteries are made up of several independent batteries that must be charged equally across each battery. To obtain this the BMS Battery Management System must reach a full charge of 14.6 VDC. Therefore, it is wise to obtain a Lithium Charge Controller or Converter to charge lithium batteries. But you don't have too. You could charge them up to 14.6 VDC with an outside charger couple time a year. If you are lucky the converter in your RV has a switch incorporated that all you have to do is switch to Lithium batteries. If you're not so lucky like me then you will need to change the converter out. Simple DIY project. The hard part $275.00. That is what it cost me on my Jayco several years ago. There is only one thing to say about this project. Lithium is the only way to go with RV's.I have a 2023 pinnacle 36fbts and I'm wondering what is involved with changing to lithium batteries?
