Losing Air

Over a long stretch on the highway with no brake usage, I am losing air pressure at a very slow rate. Is this normal?

I am thinking this might be due to the constant up and down movement of the rear axle causing the air ride level valve to periodically vent a small amount of air out.

Both my primary and secondary air tanks supplying the air brakes and air suspension.

While driving the rear suspension working certainly can be a reason it drops. Also when first compressed and put into the tanks the air is hot. When it cools the pressure will drop somewhat.

But the real test is how long it holds pressure with the engine off. If the pressure drops significantly in just a few hours (or less) you may have an air leak somewhere that needs further evaluation.

Pretty typical as the rear suspension is constantly adjusting to keep it at ride height. Like Rob said, test to make sure it holds a steady pressure just setting with the engine off, mine will stay aired up for about 7-8 days before it starts dropping in height at all.

I knew it always adjusted but never realized how much till we were on a curvy rough road with a rock wall on the drivers side. Had the window down and it was a constant "Pshh Pshh" echoing off the rock wall the whole way as we rocked side to side.
