Anyone have issues with running out of propane to quickly? If so have a remedy? Thanks

How fast are you running out? I get a full season on 30lbs. You may have a leak.

Running out of propane quickly could indicate there's a leak somewhere. Even with heavy use, we only go through one 30-pounder in a typical summer. This past summer, we ran out of propane in both tanks halfway through one of our trips when I knew both tanks were full at the beginning of the summer. Some investigation showed that one of the pigtails was leaking.

As others have said, we use propane for my outdoor grill, oven, hot water heater and at the end of the season the heater. We just about go through 1 - 30 pound tank. If you are sure you have no leak take the advice Sundancer gave you...

LP tank

My concern with the melbourne 24 series coach only comes with a 9 pound cylinder and the generator, heater, water heater and cooktop all use propane when I am not plugged in. Just seems like i could run out of gas way too soon. I will be living in the motor home not just a weekend getaway. thanks
Just wondering if anyone has modified tanks or was able to connect multiple tanks in order to get a longer life from LP

9 lbs is just under 2 gallons. Are you sure about that figure?

It's a 42 Ib tank, which is just under 9 gal when full. You could buy an extend-a-stay and connect another 20 or 30 lb bottle if you're parked for a while.

i was mistaken, it comes with a 9.8 gallon tank.....was given wrong info by dealer but found correct info in on-line manual........thanks.....may not be an issue.

If your at a permanate site, you should be able to get a larger tank which the local propane company will install and keep filled. If your in Jasper Canada your going to be using a ton on propane in the winter. With weather below freezing we use a 30 lb tank about once a week when heater and water heater is running. Sometimes more if windy or colder..You get down to the low teens your heater will run probably 30% - 40% of the time.

Its the heater that will kill your tank quickly, and your battery if not on shore power.

wait, are you worried about maybe running out in the future, or have you already been running out?

Leaks are pretty common unfortunately, so if you are already running out, leak testing is you first path.

I found that my usage was a little less than a pound per day when camping in the rocky mountains with some furnace usage each morning. I use a lot less when it's hot enough to skip the furnace. That's without an LP generator though.

So, maybe that's not very helpful for your situation, but well, it's what I've got.

If you are running the generator on propane it wouldn't take long to empty your tank. I have an onan 5500 LP that can burn half a gallon to closer to a gallon of propane an hour depending on how much wattage you are pulling.

Thats a good bit of propane. I run my rig for 2 years on 2- 20 lb tanks but I don't have a generator either. The permanent exterior tank may be an option if you are stationary for extended periods but that should be adequate provided you can fill it when needed. It's a permanently mounted tank I'm assuming since it's a mh.
