We ordered our 5th Wheel and were very excited about it because we were told that it was produced on 6/26 and it should ship and arrive in 7-10 days. It is now July 9th and we just found out our 5th Wheel hasn't even left the Distribution Center. When we called Jayco, they said the RV industry has been slow and they are having trouble finding drivers (in this job market??!!). Anyway, now we will probably have to reschedule our vacation, resulting in cancellation fees and don't know when our RV will arrive or if we can even reschedule our vacation again once it does arrive. Not a good way to get started with Jayco.

What about picking it up yourself? It might give you a chance to tour the factory, camp close-by and get anything that's wrong taken care of right there. You might even be able to get a discount for taking it vs. paying freight.

While I agree there's no better way to become familiar with your new travel trailer than to tow it home yourself, I'm not sure you can take delivery directly from the factory. The closest dealer is less than 3 miles away. You would enjoy the factory tour since it's the fifth wheel production line.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the idea. We asked today If we could pick up at the factory, and they said no this was not allowed! Oh well we will just have to wait it out I guess.

Well hate that, but don't let it sour you on Jayco - you will love it! With the holiday there in the middle I can see where they might have problems. Was the delivery estimate business day or calendar days?

I was out of town this last weekend and saw a couple of flat beds on the road transporting. Good to see the RV industry seemingly picking up.

we heard the same story last year when we ordered ours ( fuel was at 4.5-5 dollars) and it was at the dealers in a week.
